No — anyone can register and bid online. Because pickup is local, most buyers are based in or around Jacksonville. If you can get to our Jacksonville warehouse for pickup, you can win.
Local pickup at 5107 University Blvd West, Jacksonville, FL 32216. After checkout you'll pick a pickup window and receive a confirmation email; check in at the kiosk with your phone number; your time slot is on the invoice and confirmation email. Pickups are Mon-Fri 3-7pm, Sat 12-4pm. Can't make those times? Message us in the app and we'll find one that works.
You have 5 days from payment to pick up (Sundays don't count, we're closed). Anything not picked up by then goes back into our inventory, and it isn't refunded.
Open a lot, enter your max bid — the most you're willing to pay — and confirm. We bid for you in the smallest increments needed, up to your max. If another bidder passes you, the card activity will show that heat while the auction is live.
Most of what we list is retail-return inventory we acquire by the pallet, so we can pass deep savings on to local buyers. Starting every lot at $1 lets the market decide the price instead of an inflated MSRP.
Retail returns are items that came back to a major retailer for any reason — opened packaging, color swap, customer changed their mind. We sort, photograph, and grade them by condition before listing. Mystery boxes are sealed mixed-category pallets where part of the fun is the surprise.
Our catalogue baseline is "Appears New" — items that look new in hand, even if the original retail packaging may be opened or marked. When a lot is genuinely worse than that (clear signs of use, missing parts, or a mix of grades in one pallet) our team relabels it before listing — look for Used, Damaged/Missing Pieces, Mixed Condition, or Tested Working. Lot photos and notes back up the grade so you know what you're bidding on.
A 15% buyer's premium plus a flat $2 per item handling fee are added to every winning bid at checkout, plus sales tax where required. No other hidden fees — pickup is free and your invoice shows the breakdown.
Once you win, your lots move into your account for checkout. Pay online and you'll get a pickup confirmation with location and time slots. From the moment you pay, you have 5 days to pick up.

All sales are final unless an item is materially misrepresented — the wrong item, undisclosed damage, or missing parts the listing said were included. If that happened, bring it back within 7 days of pickup during return hours (Mon, Tue, Thu & Fri 3:00–7:00 PM · Wed 5:30–7:00 PM · Sat 12:00–4:00 PM); we'll inspect it at the desk and make it right with ZooLots account credit for the purchase amount. You can message us in the app first if you'd rather. Buyer's remorse and flaws already shown in the listing aren't covered.
Major retailers send us truckload manifests of returned, overstock, and shelf-pull inventory. We unpack each pallet, grade items individually, and re-list them as auction lots so they find a second home locally instead of getting destroyed.
Recommerce is the whole point. Every item won here is one that doesn't get crushed, landfilled, or shipped back through the reverse-logistics chain. Saving money by saving the planet — that's the deal.
